The Mustad 9671 fly hook is traditionally known by anglers as a 2X-long shank hook, though recent Mustad branding classifies it as 3X-long. Despite this updated rating, its physical shank length remains identical to standard 2X-long options from other brands, such as the Maruto i77 (5262) and Tiemco 5262. Regardless of how the manufacturer labels the length, it remains an excellent, versatile all-around fly hook for tying streamers, nymphs, and wet flies.
