That works out to $3.50 per spool.
The goal was to replicate Wapsi UTC thread as closely as possible, so it shares the same key characteristics: multi-filament construction, lays flat, and a waxed finish.
The main differences are that you get 240 yards per spool (UTC is 100 yards) and the thread has slightly more stretch.
Standard-size spools fit in most, if not all, bobbins (1¼″ × ⅞″).
70d is comparable to 8/0 ..... fine thread for tying sizes 18-12
