How to Use Dubbing Wax

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kzezzl8IQHU

1. Apply Sparingly:

Lightly run the dubbing wax along the tying thread—about 1 to 2 inches is usually enough. Avoid over-waxing; too much can gum up your materials or thread.

2. Twist on the Dubbing:

After waxing, pinch a small amount of dubbing and gently roll it onto the waxed thread using your fingers. The wax helps hold the fibers in place and allows you to taper the noodle evenly.

3. Adjust as Needed:

If the dubbing doesn't stick well, apply a little more wax. If it's clumping or sticky, you've probably used too much—wipe some off and try again.

4. Finish Wrapping:

Once the dubbing is secure on the thread, wrap it around the hook as you normally would to build the body of the fly.
